Yula on film

Despite the belief that California summer days are warm and sunlit, the San Francisco bay area is usually covered with fog, gloomy and chilly. On a typical day like that, I meet Yula and we spent the afternoon together creating beautiful images on Muir Beach, just north of San Francisco. I photographed the entire session on film, using a mix of Pentax 67ii with 105mm 2.4 lens and the Contax 645 with the 80mm Carl Zeiss lens. The film choice was between Portra 800 for the color analog images and Ilford Delta 400 for the black and white. I actually never used this black and white stock, but as you may see, the quality is absolutely beautiful. Richard Photo Lab was the film lab that I selected to scan and developed the film.
